Books are free at this restaurant!

They say there is no better friend than a good book... Restaurant owner Marty Doyle knows that very well. Hence, as the whole house was filled with various books, he wanted to give them to the needy without letting them go to waste. Thus, in 1970, thousands of books arrived on the shelves of the 'Traveler' restaurant in Connecticut, America. Doyle used to take two or three books of their choice to customers who came to his restaurant for free. Appreciating his good idea, local consumers also used to donate their old books. This tradition which started almost fifty years ago is still going on. Due to this the restaurant also got a good reputation locally.
Even though the ownership changed a few years ago, the distribution of Pustha Kala continues. 'So far we have distributed more than five lakh books in our hotel. Customers take at least two thousand books a week. That's why, sometimes we collect books and buy second- hand books to fill the shelves', say the restaurant managers. What a good idea..?
