* The month of February is known as Valentine's Day, but with the intention of promoting friendship and peace among nations, the United Nations has declared the month as International Friendship Month. Also, in 1997, it chose a cartoon character named Winnie the Pooh as its global ambassador for friendship. In Asian countries - Malaysia and Bangladesh celebrate Friends Day on a grand scale compared to other countries.
