Lord Shiva, who is easy to devotee and Bola Shankar, is worshiped in many forms. Among them, the most prominent and oldest is the Swayambhu Shambulingeswara Swamy Kshetra in the fort of Qila Warangal. The darshan of Swami, who is the worshipful deity of the Kakatiyas and the golden cocoon in the lap of the devotees, is very auspicious.
Abhaya says that I am the same as that Jangamayya Aarti, who falls down when he anoints his lips with water. Recognized as one of the ancient sites as the abode of that deity, this temple is home to many specialties. Devotees believe that if you speak a wish in the ear of Sandeeswarar, who faces south unlike others, it will reach Parameswarar. That is why devotees, after visiting Shambhu Lingeswara Swamy, speak their wishes in Nandiswara's ear. After they are fulfilled they come back and pay their prayers.

The Kakatiya kings who ruled from Hanmakonda as their capital came to the Qila Warangal area which was a wilderness at that time for hunting. On the way, their chariot stuck in the ground. No matter how hard he tried to get the chariot wheel out, it did not work. The tired kings could not rest there, that night in a dream Lord appeared. He disappeared saying that his temple was located in the area where the chariot got stuck. Those who woke up immediately saw the iron chariot wheel stuck in the ground turned into little gold. The ancient temple came into light when the leg was lifted. As a result, Sthalapurana says that Swayambhu Shambulingeswaraswamy Kshetra was formed as a temple without consecration. Since then the Kakatiyas worshiped Lord Shiva as their idol. This temple was built in AD. Sh. It was developed by Emperor Ganapatideva in the year 1162. The temple is built with stone in the shape of flowers on the ground and stars on the roof. Later, a 40 feet high triangular gopuram was constructed using light bricks as per the Hindu tradition. Antaralayam and Natyamanda Pala have been arranged in the temple premises.

The Shivalingam in this temple is at the lowest height from the ground. The special feature of this temple is that the devotees themselves worship the Shivalinga after performing a special Abhishe foot. Generally, in various temples built by Kakatiyas, Nandiswara is facing north. But, in this field, Nandiswara appears as the southern face. How to reach...
Rail road routes are available to reach this field. Warangal Railway Station is the nearest station if you come by train. From there you can travel about four kilometers by road and reach Qila Warangal Fort. Warangal has bus service from all major cities in Telugu states. Those coming from Vijayawada via Khammam can get down near Chintal Bridge and reach the fort. Those traveling from Khammam via Narsampeta can get down at Petrol Pump Junction and reach Shambhu Lingeswara Swamy Temple.
