Pandukeshwar village in Uttarakhand is the birthplace of the Pandavas. It is here that Maharaja Pandu's wives gave birth to Pandavas one after another. The most amazing fact is that when Bhima was born he fell onto a rock which broked into pieces. Maharaja Pandu also spent his days of vanaprastha in this village. Finally he also gave up his life followed by his dear wife Madri in this place. Pandukeshwar village is situated on the banks of river Alakananda.
